I say always buy the properties you land on at the beginning. Some people opt not to because they want to save their money. But after they land on all the properties I bought, they get slaughtered

Statistics show that having a monopoly on the ORANGE property has the highest percentage of getting hit.
Among improvable properties (properties that can have houses or hotels built on them), the orange set is far superior to any other: It is visited quite often (it is located at a moderate distance after the Jail square), and property costs are relatively cheap, and the prospect of collecting damaging rents without too much investment is excellent. |

try to dominate (monopolize) one side of the board. you basically force someone to land on your side every time around the board. Iike to get the orange, yellow and red...it's a nice corner...near the go to jail....It's also nice to have the railroads to barter.....don't give in to the temtation to barter too early....save some of your power properties for when you really need them...build on your property when you have the money...you can always get it back if you need it....it's a sweet investment that usually pays off..
Pick a gamepiece like the wheelbarrow....it's sneaky... no one expects the wheelbarrow to win...but it does...it always does.... |

Buy and hold as much property as you can. You can always mortgage the properties if you get in debt or trade off to other players for cash. This way it prevents other players from getting monopolies.
